This is the abandoned car I obtained from
Frank Eubel.
Actually, I called it the carrying case for the Mugen limited slip that I bought
from him.
The car had been sitting under a walnut tree for years.
I immediately stripped everything off the car, inside, outside, and under.
I prepped and painted the interior of the
car.
The roll cage was built by Mike Thygesen, back when he had a shop at Sears
Point, CA.
Good friend and early Honda enthusiast,
Jeff Jio, prepped and painted the car.
Here the car in being readied for paint at Jeff's shop; Mt. View Firestone,
in Mt. View, CA
This is Jeff's artist's conception of the
finished project after his paint work was done.
While getting close to completion, I was
asked to show the car on December 4, 1993.
The event was the grand opening of Nick Theroux's new shop In Burlingame,
CA.
The car debuted at the Regional Race at
Sears Point Raceway, CA on April 9, 1994.
Friend, Joe Ferranti, rented the car to run
the last race of the season (year?).
In doing so, he earned the Regional Championship that
year.
I also prepped and raced the same car in
SCCA's H Production class.
I ran three National races in the HP class, taking a 3rd,
a 2nd, and a 1st.
Adam Malley later raced a similar Honda
1200 to consecutive HP National Championships.
The car is now being thoroughly restored in
order to return to competition.
