Paul Decker won the National Championship Runoffs in 1982 driving a Decker (?).

Paul Decker designed and built one example of the Decker Mk1/2 in 1983. He built it to the minimum dimensions of the class rules and to barely fit himself. He ended up with a 68 inch wheelbase car that only weighed 618 pounds. Paul won the National Championship Runoffs with his Mk1/2 in 1985. The car was purchased in 1986 by Bob Urso, who still owns and races it. Bob uses a Kawasaki ZX-10 engine. See Bob's photos.

Paul Decker then built the Mk1 chassis with a longer wheelbase to accomodate larger drivers. He raced one MK 1 and sold four or five others. Paul won the National Championship Runoffs in 1986 and 1987, driving an Mk1 powered by an AMW engine.

Al Beasley Sr. and Ma Beasley bought one of the Decker Mk1 cars. After a couple of seasons, Al had son Ben modify the bodywork of the Mk1, and call his revised car a Bease-Decker. Al Beasley Sr. won the National Championship Runoffs in 1988, driving a Bease-Decker. Al Beasley Jr. won the Runoffs in 2000, driving the same Bease-Decker.
